Clive 10th January 2019

Dear Friends, I and my colleagues at the Desmond Tutu Foundation UK are so very sad that Paul Randolph passed away this week after a recurrence of cancer which started around the time of last April’s Peace Summit and then in the autumn subsided due to drugs and massive willpower of Paul’s. This meant he could take his family for a week in October to catch the annual Desmond Tutu Peace Lecture this year given by President Ramaphosa, go up the Table Mountain in a cable car and much more. Paul also came over with me to visit the Head of the Prison Service in Northern Ireland. It was a great meeting and we will now be training prison officers in mediation techniques so close to Paul’s heart and life’s work. Paul worked tirelessly for our foundation visiting India, Belfast on several occasions for starters. He never once said no when I requested something from him. We are all shattered and yet pleased to know our very good friend will not suffer anymore. We will build energetically and determinedly on his legacy. Paul’s family have set up a memorial site for Paul (https://paul-randolph.muchloved.com/ ) the nominated charity being the Tutu Foundation UK as they are sure it is what he would have wished. Our thoughts are with Paul’s family. Warm wishes, Clive Clive Conway ARAM, Chairman - Tutu Foundation UK
